I love cooking homemade recipes at home. You have to have the time to enjoy it though so home cooking is usually done on the weekends. My collection of homemade recipes is growing slowly.

Sunday Is Pizza Day

I make homemade pizza from scratch. I hate store bought frozen pizza. To me I feel like I am eating the box it comes in. If you realize how quick and easy it is to make homemade pizza you’d never buy a frozen pizza again. With a bit of planning I can make a pizza faster than a pizza delivery would take.

Saturday Means Buttermilk Biscuits

Nothing beats a fresh buttermilk biscuit on a cold winter morning with two feet of snow drifting in your doorway. I usually make a batch and have a few with eggs in the morning and save the others to have with soup or stew the coming week when I don’t have time to bake.

Another one of my favorite homemade recipes is cinnamon rolls.

The smell alone is to die for so I usually make them if I am expecting company over to the house. I love the smell of fresh cooked cinnamon rolls. Cinnamon rolls take a bit more time but it is well worth it. It is also something I make in batches to eat over the week in lunches etc. They are usually big enough to share.

What I am working on now is  homemade recipes for batch bread dough that I store in the fridge and take out bits to use as I see fit like fresh rolls for soup or stews, ready made hamburger buns, pizza or just sandwich bread. So far it looks good but I don’t have the recipe down yet.
